What You Need To Do To Pass Your Pool Inspection
If you’re preparing for an inspection, here are a few key things to have in place:
- Ensure that any doors, gates or other means of access to the pool are always closed when the pool is not in use. There should be no direct access points to the pool without a barrier.
- Surround your pool with a complete barrier such as a fence or wall, with no spaces small enough for a child to get through or areas a child could use as a step to scale the fence.
- Put up a CPR warning sign in the pool area to provide emergency guidance in case of an incident.
- Frequently check on the condition of your fences and barriers – if you find damaged sections that may compromise the safety, get it fixed or replaced.
What Safety Certification Inspectors Check For
A professional pool safety inspector will check through a list of safety guidelines specified by the legislature’s terms. This includes checking the pool’s construction, ensuring there are fences around the pool, checking for objects or other items that can act as ladders and other assisting means to enter the pool area.
Pacific Smoke Alarms will typically have the Pool Safety Certificate, or the Non Conformity Report emailed to you within 24hrs.
